Theodore Bigsby aka Teddy is a Basset Hound who is 18 months old and weighs 45 pounds. Teddy is in our rescue because he got away from his new owner of 3 days and when the owner was found she decided to turn Teddy over to PJ's Small Dog Rescue because she discovered she didn't have enough experience with the Basset Hound breed. So you can see why we say "must have Basset Hound breed experience" in order to adopt our Teddy. Also, Teddy needs to be the only dog in the home as he is protective of his food and he wants all the attention he can get. Teddy loves to talk to you if you talk to him first. This big boy thinks he is a little dog because he is definitely a lap dog. He loves his foster daddy and if Teddy's foster daddy is sitting, then Teddy is in his lap or as close as he can get. He likes women but he really loves men. Teddy will not be placed into a home with children younger than 12 years old. Obedience training is a definite must, as Teddy needs to learn manners like sit, stay, down, off, etc. We prefer our rescue dogs to be placed in homes where someone is home during the day and consideration will be given to those homes first. All of PJ's Small Dog Rescue puppies and dogs are indoor dogs with outside potty and play privileges, so if you are looking for a dog or puppy that you can leave outside, in the garage, in a dog run or locked in a room off from the family, please do not consider one of our rescue puppies or dogs.
