Fred is 18 months old and weighs 39 pounds. He is in PJ's Small Dog Rescue because his owners decided their children were too young for such an active playful dog. Fred would make a wonderful family dog where there are children 10 years and older. He really doesn't like young children pestering him so he will not be placed in a home with young children. Fred likes to play with other dogs and he loves to be with his people.  However, Fred is in definite need of obedience training and this is a must.  Fred needs to learn manners like no jumping, sit (this one he has down), stay, down, and off to name a few.  Breed experience is also a definite must and yes, Fred is still very much a puppy.  We prefer our rescue dogs be placed in homes where someone is home during the day and consideration will be given to those homes first. All of PJ's Small Dog Rescue puppies and dogs are ALL indoor dogs with outside potty and play privileges, so if you are looking for a dog or puppy that you can leave outside, in the garage, in a dog run or locked in a room off from the family, please do not consider one of our rescue puppies or dogs. PJ's Small Dog Rescue is NOT a SHELTER, we are a RESCUE and all of our rescue dogs and puppies are in foster homes treated like one of the family.  If you are interested in Fred, you must EMAIL PJ's Small Dog Rescue at jandppowell@citlink.net requesting the required adoption questionnaire and one will be emailed back to you. If you are a renter, please have a letter from your landlord giving you permission to have a dog. If you already have a dog then it must state you can have more than one dog. We adopt our rescue dogs to homes mainly in the Sacramento, Stockton, Antioch, and East Bay surrounding areas, however we will consider adopting our rescue dogs into homes located outside our normal adoption area.  All adoptions are in person with a signed contract.
