This is the latest update on Sharon, who is now nicknamed Abby: Abby's foster mom reports that Abby, is one spunky (feisty) little girl. She has no idea there is anything wrong with her and she’s active all day long. She’s becoming quite a challenge to keep her contained as she’s figured out how to slither out of the doggie door. She has decided that she is in charge of the household and lets the other two dogs in the home know she is boss. She is obviously feeling better now that her UTI is under control. Abby has been evaluated by a second veterinarian whose opinion is that she is unable to use her back legs for walking because of neurological issues probably caused by some trauma. The possiblity that she has swimmers syndrome has been determied unlikely. She is undergoing physical therapy provided by a canine physical therapist as well as by her foster parent. Her foster mom reports that it is amazing to see how fast she is growing and she gives her another week before she outgrows the small size diapers that she’s been wearing. She takes Abby around the yard in the sling several times a day and is starting to see her move her legs more and more. Her foster mom doesn't know how conscious Abby is about moving them but there is definitely a lot more action than when we started. She also notices that when Abby is on the ground and sliding across the floor, her legs are starting to move rather than just trailing behind her. We are all cheering for Abby's recovery !!
