*** UPDATE ***

Our girl Sonjia has great news to share. Today, June 26th 2014 she tested NEGATIVE for Heartworm! Not only that but she has found herself a family! Her loving foster mom has fallen for her Basset charms and is now her forever and ever mom.

WTG, Sonjia! We all all so happy for you sweetie!

Sonja (aka Princess Squirt) is doing very well. She is absolutely adorable with lots of personality and spunk. AND quite a bit of energy.
She is also a very bad escape artist and I can now understand why her original home might have lost her out the front door and into
the path of a moving car (she came to GGBR with a severely broken leg and heartworm positive). She is quick and will require secure fencing and very aware owners. 
She still limps after long walks and definitely needs some leash training. She has perfected 100% the flat Basset style of walking and simply
falls flat and I have to go pick her up by her harness to get her moving again. Of course, I know what that is all about, just sharing
to show she is all BASSET. She should not run for long period of time because of all the pins and plates in her repaired leg.
